Users of previous iPhone models, would fall into great depths of dropped calls and service. Many speculated that it was the service provider AT&T's, fault. The iPhone 4 appeared to have resolved this issue with a fairly robust hardware redesign.
Visiting a few of my favourite Apple blogs, things aren't appearing to be doing so well.
"The iPhone 4 antenna issue is a very real one for Apple. While no one is certain what is causing the issue, it appears that when held with the left hand, assumedly connecting the two antennas, the signal drops significantly, often cutting off data and any phone calls." - Seth Weintraub, 9 to 5 Mac Apple Intelligence
Umm... Okay.
Apple officially responds to the public with, "Gripping any phone will result in some attenuation of its antenna performance, with certain places being worse than others depending on the placement of the antennas. This is a fact of life for every wireless phone. If you ever experience this on your iPhone 4, avoid gripping it in the lower left corner in a way that covers both sides of the black strip in the metal band, or simply use one of many available cases."
Umm... Okay. Again.
I'm sure over time the issue will be resolved... Hopefully. In the mean time check out Gizmodo's article about the iPhone 4 and it's redesign. Interesting read.
Finally, Hitler is displeased with the situation as well. Here's another classic "Fallout" spoof!
