Snaakkkeee!!!

The PlayStation store has been updated and once again another great PS1 title arrives. Metal Gear Solid needs no introduction. One can now easily play Hideo Kojima's masterpiece on the go.

Another PSP UMD legacy title arrives, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2. It's a decent tactical shooter which provided this gamer with hours of enjoyment. It's nice to see a 3rd party title released amongst all of Sony's offerings.

PSP Updates

First on the agenda...

Word on the streetz is that Sony is going to be releasing an APP STORE much like Apple's for the PSP. I think this is awesome! Expect it to launch the same day as the PSP GO, October 1st.

Secondly...

Another PS1 Final Fantasy game has been rated by the ESRB. Final Fantasy Tactics. Sweet! It ain't FF VIII or FF IX, however it is a great choice and one I'm looking forward for to play on the go.

Finally...

Check this out. It's the official European PlayStation blog, providing a little 411 about the upcoming GO.

The Making of FF VII

With the recent release of Final Fantasy VII on the PSN, I've been able to re-experience one of my favourite video games of all time. It's the reason why I bought a PS1. Playing it again has been wonderful. The fantastic story, battle system and production values take me back to a simpler time. One, where I didn't have to worry about paychecks, mortgages, car payments, food, cat food, ect. For a lot of people, this is their first time experiencing the classic and I'm glad they're finally able to.

For those who would like to learn more about it's origins and the drama behind the scenes, check out EDGE's great article about the making of the legendary RPG.

Kelley's PSP Status and That Sweet 10 Dollar Price Point

GO!

I want the PSP GO. I want the exchange UMD for a DIGITAL DOWNLOAD VOUCHER program as well. All of these things are good and get me pumped up. Plus, I hope the eye pleasing PEARL WHITE PSP GO will be released in North America alongside the classic black.

ATTENTION REQUIRED

The only system I've been playing on a regular basis is my PSP-3000. Whether it's been at work, at home or on the GO, it's been my companion. GOOO!!!! Argh, again I want one.

PS1 CLASSICS EXPAND

I've been rotating through 3 PS1 classics, one's I haven't played in ages. It's been pretty sweet to experience the awesomeness of Medal of Honor, Resident Evil and Final Fantasy VII once again. In addition, Konami announced that METAL GEAR SOLID will be hitting the Playstation Network Store on June 18th for 10 bucks.

10 bucks for MGS! Like holy crap man!

Here we go again. Another epic, massive classic for 10 bones. I love the 10 dollar price point for the biggest in the PS1 library. It's not 6 bucks mind you but it is a far cry from 15 bucks, which Japan is paying for these titles.

Sony has mentioned that nearly 60 PS1 titles will be released through out the year. Hopefully, Gran Turismo 1 and 2 will be among them. :)

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

During our E3 2009 recap show, Tyler and I discussed our favourite game from each of the press conferences. For Sony's, I chose the awesome GOD OF WAR III. Nintendo's was an obvious pick with the the Earth shattering announcement of TEAM NINJA's METROID OTHER M. Finally, Microsoft's exclusive Ubisoft title SPLINTER CELL: CONVICTION. All of those games look phenomenal.

So what was my GAME OF THE SHOW?

What was that one title that made me crap my pants?

Look no further than METAL GEAR SOLID: PEACE WALKER.

With Hideo Kojima on stage, stressing the fact this is a TRUE sequel to his franchise and a game HE WILL BE PRODUCING, DESIGNING AND WRITING THE EPIC. Not only that but most of the MGS4 TEAM will be on board as well.

AWESOME!

That's why I love my PSP, you can have small experiences alongside BIG HUGE CONSOLE PRODUCTION EXPERIENCES. I' can't wait for Kojima's next masterpiece, exclusive for PSP!

All New Accessories To Go

Not too surprised by this one. You won't be able to use any of your old accessories from your PSP-1000 to 3000 for your brand spankin' new PSP GO.

We've got new TV OUTPUT CABLES, VOICE HEADSETS, CASES, ECT...

So get ready to spend a little bit more than expected on launch, like around 300 bones to max out you PSP GO experience. Ouch!
