Built To Last. The Best Audio Is ONLY ON PS3!

Unlike the current gen systems X-Box 360 and Wii, the PlayStation 3 is built to last. From media server support to Blu-Ray movies to free online gaming it has become the center piece of people's home entertainment system's. Period. End of story.

Under it's hood is superior hardware technology driving the system. Including, impressive audio abilities.

PlayStation LifeStyle has uncovered a great interview from Development Online, revealing that the PS3 is the only system that can output at 7.1 HD audio. Sweet! Check them out.

Now go blast your PS3's audio into the stratosphere when your playing Heavy Rain and the upcoming God of War III.

I Have The Power! Sony Expands RAM For Developers.

PlayStation University has revealed that Sony has increased and released extra RAM for developers to work with via December 2009's firmware update.

The PS3's OS used to require 120MB to operate. Now it's been reduced to 50MB. This has given developers an extra 70MB of rockin' RAM. Very cool!

This reminds me of when Sony updated the PSP's firmware to 3.50 way back on May 31st, 2007. Sony capped the portable system's CPU to 266 MHz, to lengthen it's battery life. When the new firmware was released, it allowed developers full access to the CPU which is 333 MHz. God of War: Chains of Olympus was one of the first titles to utilize this extra power and it shows.

It'll be interesting to see what devs have up their sleeves with a little extra space to work with on the PS3.

Justifing The Medium Once Again... GOWIII Storage! Rarrr!

The downloadable future... Oh the light of it is so brilliant. The "dream" of the interactive medium, to be able to download all your games onto a hard drive and never have to run out and purchase your game at Wal-Mart. Oh yes, the "dream". Then reality smacks you upside the head.

Tweeted from Sony's Santa Monica Director of Technology Tim Moss, God of War III will be filling a dual-layed blu-ray disc with 35gigs of epic greek mythology. Rarrr! I am Kratos the blu-ray God of War! Rarrr!

Imagine downloading that. Hmmm... Yeah, that'd sure be a blast!

I don't mind downloading music and PSP games. However, the size and quality of an HD gaming experience is amazingly huge.

Not only does this continue to justify the blu-ray medium, Hideo Kojima himself commented that even his Metal Gear Solid 4 could barely fit on a dual-layered 50 gig disc. Holy crap!

Also entering my memory, remember when Capcom's Jun Takeuchi revealed that Lost Planet 2 received significant content cuts due to the restrictions of X-Box 360's dvd storage.

Awesome! A fine solution! Content deleted from games due to lack of storage. Somehow this doesn't sit well with me. It's making me even more of a fan of blu-ray.

Finaly... Good News!

It's no secret I am a huge PSP GO fan. It's my portable gaming system of choice. It's my favourite mobile browser, music, movie and photo viewer/player. Sony should start implementing the whole "it only does everything" marketing campaign for this PlayStation product as well. It's too bad many people dismiss it. I believe it boils down to the price. Sony really needs to knock it down to $199. Until, that happens the following news that hit the net, makes the system much more attractive.

The North American PlayStation Blog has just announced a great program. Starting now and ending on March 21st, if you purchase a brand new PSP GO and register it on the PSN, you'll receive a voucher of your choice of either a free copy of Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines or LittleBigPlanet. That's a 40 dollar value my friends and both titles are awesome.

In other news, SCEA Senior Vice President of Publisher Relations Rob Dyer spoke with Industry Gamers and has announced the following -

"...we still have a very robust lineup this year from third parties on the PSP, starting with Metal Gear Peace Walker. I won't go through the whole lineup because I want our third-party partners to make those announcements, but there are some big, big titles coming out this year and you'll see those announcements at GDC, DPS (Destination PlayStation) or E3."

More great news! I can't wait to see what's in store!
