"We have no plans for a PSP 4000 right now. But I will say that we are looking at firmware updates and software changes that are made to the system to be able to update and add new features and functionalities. And those are fairly regular, those come every six to eight weeks, and there's some exciting things on the horizon in terms of features added this year." - John Koller, SCEA's Marketing Exec
I hope Mr. Koller is correct. As much as I'd love a PSP-4000 with new hardware implemented and features, it'd be nice to take a breather. Apple updates their iPod hardware line every year and Sony is doing the same with the PSP. This excites me, yet at the same time hurts the wallet. A year off would be nice and it'd give them time to focus on future functionality through firmware updates. It's been ages since we've had a decent update. The last one was literally years ago adding SKYPE and Internet Radio functionality.
