Firmware Mayhem

There are a number of new firmware updates currently available for your favourite video game system.

Sony's Playstation 3 has a 2.36 update which improves system stability when playing certain PlayStation games. The update is not as impressive as firmware update 2.40 which hopefully, will appear soon.

The PSP has been upgraded to a monumental 4.00 update which now includes Google Internet searching via the XMB (XrossMediaBar). You'd think with such a historic number, a lot of cool features would be added but sadly no.

Finally, the Nintendo Wii has a 3.3 firmware update that home brew hobbyists and video game importers will not like. It will make the "Twilight Hack" unusable. Plus, Datel's Freeloader is shut down as well. Come to think about it, the last handful of Wii updates have all been like this. I hoped by now we'd receive an update that would include something useful like an MP3 Player channel but nope.
